Engineering and Math
In the engineering world, people use math for each phase of a project. From the conception of a project to cost analysis, math will be used to determine how much materials will cost, labor, time, and other costs. It is very expensive to build anything these days, but people always benefit from a new grocery store, movie theater, or bank. Engineers rely on math to make sure that they stay within a budget, but still produce a quality building that people will enjoy. But there are many kinds of engineers and they all need math in order to get their work done.
People who are not engineers still use math when they are constructing an additional onto their house, building a pool, or landscaping. These are projects that some people decide to do themselves in order to save money on labor. Building an addition requires planning and patience. Being able to draw using measurements will help people build a better structure. There are also building codes that must be followed when building in certain areas. Math skills will be needed to read the codes and figure out how to comply when the construction begins. Building anything from a house of cards to a new church, requires math skills. Measuring distance using one’s eye is a form of math. It is important to learn basic math skills so that one can stay informed and have a career that is rewarding and satisfying. Math is not difficult to learn and can help in many ways.
