The Art of Budgeting

No matter how one would detest performing mathematical calculations, one would always need to get down and solve some of the most common mathematical problems of daily life. Part of everyone’s daily routine is budgeting their money and their time. For people who are financially challenged, budgeting daily expenses could be a very big challenge. Budgeting daily expenses would involve dividing your involve over a period of time and deducting fixed overhead expenses like rent, utilities and others then extract an amount for contingencies. Budgeting is a challenging exercise that involves a lot of ingenuity, imagination and most of all, mathematical skills.

Budgeting is not just simply about managing your finances, it also mean managing your time. Budgeting your time means scheduling your activities in such a way that you can efficiently allocate enough time for various activities. Normally, a person should get eight hours of sleep everyday so that would leave you about 18 hours of waking time which you can allocate to various activities you want to do. If you have an 8 to 5 job that would mean that you would spend another eight hours working at the office so technically you only have eight hours to spend on other activities during working days. By calculating the time you spend on various activities, you will be able to work out a schedule that will give you enough time to relax and be with your family. So you see, mathematics in our daily life is as inevitable as breathing. If you try to do away with mathematical activities like budgeting, you will soon find your finances in a state of calamity and your time consumed on some activities, which are either irrelevant or nonsensical.
