Each day, people use simple math skills in their jobs in order to complete projects and other job duties. Construction workers and engineers are no exception. They must use math in order to construct buildings, place them on the site correctly, and calculate the cost of materials, labor, and other items to complete the job. The blueprints that are used are created using math to build offices, hallways, bathrooms, and conference rooms that will be large enough to accommodate a certain number of people. All of the people who work on a project like this have math skills they will use everyday. If a room is off by even a few inches, the entire project could fall apart.

           There are many other jobs that require math skills that are complex or simple. Cashiers have to make change, accounts have to balance out finances for companies, stock room supervisors have to order supplies, and tour guides have to count the number of people they have on the tour and make sure this number stays the same for the entire day. Math skills that are simple or more complex are used in most jobs. People do not even realize that they are using math because they are using it so often. Counting, adding, subtracting, making money, losing money, all require the use of math in some way. Having these skills will help a person achieve more in their lives and be able to enjoy more of life because they are able to thrive in it.
